The “Baking the Future Challenge” innovation competition enters its home stretch
On 10 September, the finalist startups will defend their projects before the Europastry jury, at the company’s R&D centre in Barcelona, the Cereal.
Last June, Europastry, the leading baking firm in the frozen dough sector, in collaboration with Eatable Adventures, launched the Baking the Future Challenge, a pioneering innovation competition designed to revolutionise the bakery world by finding the most forward-thinking startups.
The competition has now entered its home stretch, and on 10 September the winning project will be announced at an event that will take place at the company's R&D centre in Barcelona, the Cereal. During the final, which will be broadcast live on Europastry's social networks, the finalist startups will defend their projects before a jury made up of members of Europastry's management team.
The Baking the Future Challenge is the first innovation competition that invites startups from all over the world to take the world of baking to the next level. With this objective in mind, Europastry posed three business challenges within the ecosystem of innovation: new technologies to bring bakery products closer to the final consumer, technology applied to improving the consumer experience, and, finally, the development of new products with ingredients and formats that meet the needs of new consumer profiles.
DRIVING INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT
The winning start-up will have the opportunity to access the company’s R&D departments, obtain preferential marketing and distribution agreements, potentially see their product being added to the Europastry portfolio, and potentially receive as much as 100,000 euros in investment funding.
